Every hour the sun beams onto Earth more than enough energy to satisfy global energy needs for an entire year. Solar energy is the technology used to harness the sun's energy and make it useable. Today, the technology produces less than one tenth of one percent of global energy demand.
Many people are familiar with so-called photovoltaic cells, or solar panels, found on things like spacecraft, rooftops, and handheld calculators. The cells are made of semiconductor materials like those found in computer chips. When sunlight hits the cells, it knocks electrons loose from their atoms. As the electrons flow through the cell, they generate electricity.
On a much larger scale, solar thermal power plants employ various techniques to concentrate the sun's energy as a heat source. The heat is then used to boil water to drive a steam turbine that generates electricity in much the same fashion as coal and nuclear power plants, supplying electricity for thousands of people.

This is the interview on our friend Cody Franks, hope you enjoy.
Q: "Cody tell us, why are you so elided and talk to me about the excitement you're feeling right now." A:"I am very happy that our community has gotten these Blue garbage cans, but I found out that they are not for garbage at all, they are actually to help citizens RECYCLE." Cody has mentioned the Blue Recycle Bins seen all over the community. I understand that the insight has grown over the past few days, on my friend Cody and on the comunity. It seems that lately people are beginning to take more intrest in Recycling and going Green Over the Past months.I see this as a change for every one things that would normally be ignored are now being taken care of and it seems to me that students are helping to keep the class rooms neater and cleaner by simply picking up paper, that was once on the floor , or helping the teacher set the books back on to a shelf. Q:Cody, what do you think about this new change?" A:"I'm so happy that this is going on right now in the community and that I'm going to be a part of it. This is a good lesson for both all of the kids and for the adults. Recycling is a good thing for the environment and I believe this is a very great idea." As you now know Cody Franks approves recycling and so lets continue our interview on the juicy gossip and all the rage of recycling. Q:"Cody now that you have applied the change in to your life what has changed in your life?" A:"Now i'm planting a garden in my back yard and this is going to be a heathy thing for me and my family. It is a nice thing for me to see and experience hard work." |
This was an interesting discovery on our friend Cody Franks, as you see any one can make a change. It just takes a little work and determination. Now to get back with Cody Franks. Q:What would you like to say to your fans?" A:"This is amazing, thanks mom and dad for doing this great thing for me. It may not seem as much at the time, but I know that this is going to be one of the things that I will remember for a long time. I want for anyone who is reading this to go out and make a change."
WOW, now that was encouragement! This is all very true and is the reason that Cody and I decided to make a project on living Green and making a change one person at a time.Sadly,it is time to wrap up the Intervew, but remember anyone, I mean anyone can change the world. As rock band, My ChemicalRomance song NaNaNA quotes,"Everybody wants to change the world but no one,no one wanna try, wanna try, wanna try.", Is partly true.Me and My friends plan to change that, so that the world will one day be better and healthier for all of us. Q:Cody after me sharing my opinions with you, what are your opinions on the matter?" A:"Well I agree, It after all is our home, we all as a whole live on earth, this may seem like I'm trying to be captain obvious, but honestly it has taken projects like this for me to realize how much we need to take our environment a little more seriously and that we all play a part, it doesn't matter how big or small." You read it hear first! Recycling is cool and ok, so pass it on and share your own opinions at our student blog. |
"Technology,♼ur earth."
This was an amazing discovery for MIT, they found Kelvin Doe and invited him to study and to help him reach his goals. He loves to invent and he has his own radio station which he monitors himself and not only that but he figured out how to make a generator with a spark plug to provide the electricity needed. In Africa electricity is scares, so he made his own battery which he uses for his inventions. The reason that I posted this video was to prove that any one can make a change no matter the circumstances, many of us don't often think about how lucky we all are, but we truly are.Watching how this one boy alone is change his community makes me ask and wonder what we doing to better and change our community. We can do several thing in our community to make a change for the grater good.Me and my friends are starting to see how everything we do some how affects one another in different ways.It is because of projects like these that we take in consideration just how important it is to take care of our earth; it is not just my earth, or your earth, but our Earth. This means we need to protect it and make it better for our selves, by doing so we are not just making a change, but also helping our selves discover and understand more about the world in which we inhabit.
